Benefits of Collapsing Core Mold


 Recently, we have read an article that talks about the new birth of old mold. You can rebuild it with collapsible core tech.

 From the beginning, let's explain what is "collapsible core tech". 

 "Collapsible core technology is a method for removing internal undercut in parts, and is used primary in caps and closures, plumbing components, and the medical industry. There are two types of collapsing cores: mechanical and flexing steel. Benefits of collapsing core technology

1. Simplified system design: It eliminates a lot of parts, more simple, and more flexible for cavity layout.

2. Simplified mold setup: This is one of the biggest benefits. Collapsing core molds are more short and compact than unscrewing molds, also more easier to setup.

3. Less maintenance: Reducing the number of components,...allows for in-press service time...

4. Different parts can be run in the same mold.

5. Improved quality: With collapsing cores, the mold gently moves away from the undercut and as a result, puts a lot less stress on the part.

6. Improved part design: Collapsible cores allow you to add features to the part and thin out the wall sections without needing an anti-rotation feature. 

7. Reduce cycle time: Because putting less stress on the part. This means a warmer part can be ejected, which can reduce cycle time.
